背景信息 Chromodomain-helicase-DNA-binding protein 1 (CHD1) is a multidomain chromatin-remodelling enzyme, which belongs to the SNF2/RAD54 helicase family. It contains an SWI/SNF-like helicase/ATPase domain, a DNA-binding domain, and two chromodomains. CHD1 is multifunctional protein, which has an important role in gene regulation. It interacts with various modified histones, such as H3K4Me2 and H3K4Me3, and maintains the open chromatin structure required for transcription. It also interacts with, or plays a role in the assembly of, several transcription-related complexes, including the histone acetylation complex SAGA, and the FACT and PAF complexes. Previous studies have suggested that CHD1 maintains the pluripotent state of embryonic stem cells, and is required for the reprogramming of somatic cells to the pluripotent state.
