背景信息	The mitochondrial protein named Electron transfer flavoprotein-ubiquinone oxidoreductase (ETF-QO) or ETF ubiquinone oxidoreductase, or Electron-transferring flavoprotein dehydrogenase (ETF-dehydrogenase and encoded by the gene named ETFDH is an enzyme that transfers electrons from ETF (electron transferring flavoprotein) to the ubiquinone pool in the inner mitochondrial membrane, and an essential part of linking the oxidation of fatty acids and amino acids to oxidative phosphorylation and ATP production in the mitochondria. Deficiencies in ETFDH result in a disorder known a glutaric acidemia type II or MADD (for multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency) in which there is a buildup of fats and proteins in the body and other complications like acidosis, hypoglycemia, and neurological disorders. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-ETFDH rabbit polyclonal antibody has been tested in western blots on human liver extracts and in paraffin embedded immunohistochemistry on human prostate cancer tissue sections.
