背景信息 Thrombospondin-4 (THBS4) is part of the thrombospondin protein family of adhesive calcium-binding glycoproteins that mediate cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix interactions. THBS4 can bind to fibrinogen, fibronectin, laminin and type V collagen. THBS4 has been shown to be involved in local signaling in the developing and adult nervous system, recruit macrophages, and regulate atherogenic associated inflammation. THBS4 may also be a putative tumor-suppressor protein in colorectal cancer.
