背景信息 Tudor domain-containing protein 6 (TDRD6) is a testis-specific protein, which plays a role in spermatogenesis, miRNA expression, and chromatoid body formation. It contains multiple tudor domains, which interact with symmetrical dimethyl arginines in piwi proteins. TDRD6 is required for localization of Miwi, Mvh and Mael to chromatoid bodies. Mice deficient in TDRD6 have abnormal and potentially non-functional chromatoid bodies.
