    背景信息 The protein named Arl1 or ADP-ribosylation factor-like 1 protein and encoded by the gene ARL1, is a member ADP-ribosylation factor like family that plays an important role in Golgi function and maintenance. The small G protein Arf1 regulates Golgi traffic and is activated by two related types of guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs). GBF1 acts at the cis-Golgi, whereas BIG1 and its close paralog BIG2 act at the trans-Golgi membranes, both work to activate Arl1. Arl1’s GTP-bound form interacts with GOLGA1. The GTP-bound form also interacts with GOLGA4 and RGPD8 and directly interacts with ARFIP2; this interaction leads to a > 4-fold increase in the amount of bound GTP at steady state level, and ARL1 binds to SCOC, preferentially in its GTP-bound form. Arl1 is localized to the Golgi apparatus membrane, the cytoplasmic side. Arl1 is expressed in heart, liver, lung, kidney, placenta, pancreas and skeletal muscle tissues.
