    背景信息 Epidermal growth factor (EGF) is an acid-and heat-stable, 53 amino acid protein of 6045 daltons originally found in rodents and humans (Cohen, 1962; Carpenter & Zendegui, 1986; Gregory, 1985). EGF has been shown to be a potent mitogen for a variety of cell types both in vivo and in vitro (Carpenter & Zendegui, 1986; Gregory, 1985). It binds to a 170,000 dalton receptor on the surface of cells and mediates intrinsic phosphorylation of the receptor on tyrosine residues (Carpenter, 1987). EGF has been detected in nearly all body fluids such as urine (urogastrone) (Gregory, 1985), saliva (Starkey & Orth, 1987), milk (Starkey & Orth, 1987) and platelet-rich plasma (Oka & Orth, 1983). EGF, transforming growth factor-alpha and vaccinia virus growth factor exhibit 30-40% amino acid homology (Derynck, 1986; Stroobant et al., 1985) and are able to bind to and activate the EGF receptor.
