背景信息 Tensin-3 is a member of the Tensin family of proteins that serve as a connection between the cytoskeleton and extracellular matrix. Because of this link, Tensin’s are commonly thought to regulate signaling for the shape of the cell and motility. Tensin-3 localizes in the cell cytoplasm and has been shown to be significantly decreased in many different human cancer cell lines. Higher expression levels of Tensin-3 were also found to be associated with longer survival. Tensin-3 has also been found to be highly expressed in functioning thyroid follicular adenomas while expression is significantly lower in non-functioning thyroid follicular adenomas, which seems to imply that Tensin-3 has an important role in basic thyroid function. 产品信息 格式 Affinity Purified 控制 - Human kidney tissue lysate

UniProt汇总 FUNCTION: May play a role in actin remodeling. Involved in the dissociation of the integrin-tensin-actin complex. EGF activates TNS4 and down-regulates TNS3 which results in capping the tail of ITGB1. Seems to be involved in mammary cell migration. May be involved in cell migration and bone development (By similarity).
SUBUNIT STRUCTURE: EGF promotes the interaction with EGFR. Interacts with PTK2 and BCAR1. Tyrosine phosphorylation is critical for these interactions.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell junction › focal adhesion
TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed in umbilical vein endothelial cells, epithelial cells, and fibroblasts cells (at protein level). Highly expressed in thyroid, kidney and placenta. Low expression in heart, skeletal muscle, spleen, liver, and lung. Expressed in tumor endothelial cells. Expression seems to be down-regulated in thyroid tumor tissues and in anaplastic carcinomas.
INDUCTION: Down-regulated by EGF.
PTM: EGF/epidermal growth factor induces tyrosine phosphorylation in a time- and dose-dependent manner.
