背景信息	The protein named PH-interacting protein (PHIP), or pleckstrin homology domain of insulin receptor substrate -1 or alternatively IRS-1 PH domain-binding protein or WD repeat-containing protein 11 and encoded by the human gene named PHIP/WDR11 is a transcriptional regulator highly important in insulin and insulin-like growth factor (IGF) signaling pathways. PHIP plays roles in cell proliferation, anti-apoptotic response, cell morphology, pancreatic beta cell growth and survival and cytoskeletal reorganization. PHIP binds IRS1 and IRS2 response elements and can directly interact with histones H1, H3, and H4. PHIP is expressed in a variety of cells and particularly high in various cancer and myeloma cells, and PHIP is a potential biomarker and mediator of metastasis in many cancers.
