背景信息 The cohesin subunit SA-2 is a part of the cohesin complex. This complex is comprised of a heterodimer between SMC1 and SMC3 proteins, as well as RAD21 and STAG proteins (STAG1, 2, or 3). These proteins form a large ring that can trap sister chromatids after DNA replication. During prophase, the cohesion complexes dissociate from the chromatin due to the phosphorylation by PLK1 (Polo-like kinase) with the exception at the centromeres where the cohesion complexes remain.
