背景信息 Netrin receptor UNC5B is required for axonal guidance and growth, embryonic development, angiogenesis, and vascular patterning, among other related functions. In general, netrins are bifunctional guidance cues, which either attract or repel axons. Attraction and repulsion is mediated by the activation of colorectal cancer (DCC) and uncoordinated 5 (UNC5) receptor families, respectively. The UNC5 receptor family consists of four members, UNC5A to UNC5D. Additionally, Netrin recpetor UNC5B acts as a dependence receptor that is required for apoptosis induction when not associated with netrin ligand. Entrez基因汇总 This gene encodes a member of the netrin family of receptors. This particular protein mediates the repulsive effect of netrin-1 and is a vascular netrin receptor. This encoded protein is also in a group of proteins called dependence receptors (DpRs) which are involved in pro- and anti-apoptotic processes.
