背景信息	E2F transcription factors regulate cell cycle progression and cell proliferation by controlling the expression of genes required for G1/S transition. E2F also up-regulates expression of genes involved in DNA replication and repair. E2F activity is frequently deregulated in human cancers, and may be involved in tumorigenesis. EAPP (e2F-associated phosphoprotein) is an E2F- binding protein that modulates E2F activity in a cell cycledependent manner. EAPP is localized in the nucleus and interacts with E2F-1, E2F-2, and E2F-3, but not with E2F-4. Overexpression of EAPP resulted in an increase of cells in Sphase, implying a role for EAPP in stimulating E2F-regulated proliferation.
