背景信息	With SmartFlare™ RNA Detection probes, you can detect RNA in LIVE CELLS with ease. With just an overnight incubation of Dot1L; Mouse, Cyanine 5 RNA Detection Probe you can detect the presence of Dot1L within your cells. DOT1L (DOT1-like, the mammalian homologue of yeast DOT1), is a DNA-binding protein that acts as a histone methyltransferase. DOT1L di- and trimethylates histone H3 on lysine 79, and is thought to be the sole enzyme responsible for this mark. DOT1L and H3K79 methylation play important roles in heterochromatin formation and in embryonic development. In contrast to other lysine histone methyltransferases, DOT1L does not contain a SET domain, suggesting a unique mechanism for methylation of lysines in histones DOT1L is associated with activating genes associated with acute leukemia by deregulation of cancer-relevant genes and binding with several MLL fusion partners. In yeast, Dot1-mediated H3K79 methylation is associated with telomere silencing, meiotic checkpoint control, and DNA damage response.
