背景信息 Lumican, belonging to the small leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) Class II subfamily, binds collagen fibrils and the hydrophilic glycosaminoglycans to regulate interfibrillar spacings. Lumican consists of 11 leucine-rich repeats and 1 LRRNT domain. Lumican is a the major keratan sulfate proteoglycan of the cornea, but is also distributed in interstitial collagenous matrices throughout the body.
