背景信息 Glutamate-cysteine ligase modifier subunit (GCLM) is one of two parts of glutamate-cysteine ligase (GCL). GCL is responsible for catalyzing the rate-limiting step in the synthesis of cellular antioxidant glutathione (GSH). With the introduction of oxidative stress, GCLM was modified from its monomeric form to a holoenzyme.
