背景信息 Endothelial monocyte-activating polypeptide II (EMAPII) is a 22 kDa pro-inflammatory cytokine that regulates TNFβ signaling. The mature EMAPII is formed from a functional EMAPII precursor protein in response to apoptosis, and other forms of cell stress. Previous studies have reported that it may decrease the growth of tumors by inhibiting angiogenesis. EMAPII has also been implicated in autoimmune diseases. However, EMAPII is also involved in a range of normal biological processes.
