背景信息	Glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase 1 (GDP1) catalyzes the conversion of dihydroxyacetone phosphate, a product of the glycolytic pathway, to glycerol-3-phosphate as an intermediary step in the biosynthesis of triglycerides. GDP1 activity may increase in response to excessive glucose. GDPI expression is elevated in muscles and adipose tissue, and it may play a role in insulin resistance and obesity.
