背景信息 Acid-sensing ion channels (ASICs) are broadly distributed in the nervous system where they contribute to certain sensory processes. In particular, they survey moderate decreases in extracellular pH as a means to regulate acid levels and acid-induced pain. ASICs thereby serve as a popular target for the treatment of acidosis.
