背景信息	Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 22, also known as Deubiquitinating enzyme 22 or Ubiquitin thioesterase 22 or Ubiquitin-specific-processing protease 22, and encoded by the gene name USP22 or USP3L, belongs to a large family of proteins with ubiquitin hydrolase activity. USP22 catalyzes the deubiquitination of both histones H2A and H2B, thereby acting as a coactivator. USP22 is a death-from-cancer signature and a subunit of the hSAGA coactivator complex. USP22 is recruited to specific promoters by activators such as MYC, where it is required for transcription. Moreover, USP22 is required for nuclear receptor-mediated transactivation and cell cycle progression. USP22 is expressed in various tissues including heart and skeletal muscle, with low levels found in lung and liver.
