背景信息	CD25 plays a role in lymphocyte differentiation and activation/proliferation. The CD25 antigen (IL-2Ralpha) is a single-chain glycoprotein which is the low affinity receptor for IL-2, thus, by itself; CD25 binds IL-2 only with low affinity. But in conjunction with CD122 (IL-2 receptor beta chain) and CD132, CD25 antigen forms the high-affinity IL-2 receptor complex. CD25 is expressed on activated T and B cells, on activated monocytes and macrophages, and on T cell clones. It is also expressed on NK cells enriched from peripheral blood lymphocytes by culturing in the presence of IL-2. It is absent from thymocytes and resting T and B lymphocytes.
