应用说明 Functional studies on platelets where VLA-5 acts as a fibronectin receptor. Platelet adhesion to fibronectin is inhibited by CBL 497
Indirect immunofluorescence staining on fresh frozen or acetone or methanol sections, 5-10 micrograms/mL typical.
Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections (7 µm) of placental tissue fixed with acetone for 1 hr. Antibody used at 1:10 dilution (Sato et al., 2005).
Immunocytochemistry: iolated EVT cells firxed with 0.5% PFA @ 4°C for 15 minutes followed by acetone at -20°C for 2 minutes. Antibody was used at 1:10 dilution (Sato et al., 2005).
FACS: living cell populations or acetone fixed preparations only. Blocking: 10-40 micrograms/mL working concentration (Sato et al., 2005)

The monoclonal antibody reacts with platelets and monocytes and also weakly with T cells and granulocytes. It also reacts with various cell types of non-haemopoietic origin.

This gene encodes the integrin alpha 5 chain. Alpha chain 5 undergoes post-translational cleavage in the extracellular domain to yield disulfide-linked light and heavy chains that join with beta 1 to form a fibronectin receptor.
