背景信息	The protein current named PDZ domain-containing protein GIPC1 or alternatively, GAIP C-terminus-interacting protein, RGS-GAIP-interacting protein, RGS19-interacting protein 1, or Tax interaction protein 2 (TIP-2), and encoded by the human gene named GIPC1 or C19orf3, GIPC, RGS19IP1 is a peripheral membrane scaffolding protein. GIPC1 is widely expressed and plays a critical role in G-protein linked signaling by modulating cell surface receptor expression and trafficking. The protein is also known as NIP, GIPC, IIP-1, TIP-2, SEMCAP, C19orf3, Hs.6454, GLUT1CBP, RGS19IP1, SYNECTIN, and SYNECTIIN. GIPC1 interacts with a variety of G-protein receptors including GLUT-1, ACTN1, KIF1B, MYO6, PLEKHG5, Semphorin-4C, Neurophilin-1 and Syndecan-4. GIPC1 is often referred to as an endocytic adaptor protein for GPCR proteins and GIPC1 augments their interaction by assembling various protein complexes that participate in diverse cell biological processes from cell division and differentiation to metabolism. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-GIPC1 rabbit polyclonal antibody has been tested in western blots and immunoprecipitation on mouse brain extracts and in immunohistochemistry on paraffin embedded human breast cancer tissue sections.
