背景信息	The protein called ATPase ASNA1 or alternatively Arsenical pump-driving ATPase, Arsenite-stimulated ATPase, or Transmembrane domain recognition complex 40 kDa ATPase subunit (hARSA-I/hASNA-I) and encoded by the human gene ASNA1/ARSA/TRC40 is an important endoplasmic reticulum localized ATPase that is required for the post-translational delivery of tail-anchored (TA) proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum. ASNA1 recognizes and selectively binds the transmembrane domain of TA proteins in the cytosol. This complex then targets to the endoplasmic reticulum by membrane-bound receptors, where the tail-anchored protein is released for insertion. ASNA1 also interacts with other endoplasmic stress proteins such as SERP1 and SEC61. ASNA1 is expressed by a variety of tissues and cell types. Interestingly ASNA1 can also be found in the nucleus and nucleolus, and ASNA1 is thought to play a role in nucleocytoplasmic transport as well. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-ASNA1 rabbit polyclonal antibody has been tested in western blots on human brain tissue, paraffin embedded immunohistochemistry on human lung cancer tissue sections, and fluorescent immunocytochemistry on HepG2 cells in culture.
