背景信息	The protein currently named Lysosomal protective protein or alternatively in earlier literature, Carboxypeptidase C, Carboxypeptidase L, Cathepsin A, Protective protein Cathepsin A, (PPCA), or Protective protein for beta-galactosidase and encoded by the human gene named CTSA/PPGB is a lysosome localized enzyme that is essential for beta-galactosidase and neuraminidase activities. CTSA is a chaperone type protein that helps to stabilize the primary enzyme and promote its activity. CTSA is expressed in a large number of cells including immune cells, endothelial and epithelial cells, liver, kidney, brain and heart tissues. CTSA plays a role in innate immunity and in regulating various cellular processes such as autophagy. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-CTSA polyclonal antibody has been tested in western blot on Sp2/0 cell extracts.
