背景信息 Mesencephalic astrocyte-derived neurotrophic factor (MANF) is a member of the ARMET family. MANF has been demonstrated to promote selectively the survival of dopaminergic neurons of the ventral mid-brain and may be indicated for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. MANF is suggested to modulate the GABAergic transmission to the dopaminergic neurons of the substantia nigra. Additionally, MANF has been shown to enhance spontaneous and evoked GABAergic inhibitory postsynaptic currents in dopaminergic neurons.
