背景信息 Glycophorin A, CD235a, is a single-pass membrane sialoglycoprotein and carrier of the blood group specificities M and N. The gene is located on chromosome 4q28-q31 and share sequence homology with genes encoding glycophorin B and glycophorin E (van der Schoot, 2002). Glycophorin A is expressed by erythroid cells beginning on morphologically recognizable erythroid precursors, just after the CFU-E stage, to the mature erythrocyte.
