背景信息	The protein TSPYL2 or alternatively named Testis-specific Y-encoded-like protein 2 (TSPY-like protein 2) or Cell division autoantigen 1, Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma-associated antigen se20-4 (CTCL-associated antigen se20-4), Differentially-expressed nucleolar TGF-beta1 target protein, or Nuclear protein of 79 kDa (NP79) and encoded by the human gene named TSPYL2/CDA1/DENTT or TSPX is part of the CASK/TRB1/TSPYL2 transcriptional complex which modulates gene expression in response to neuronal synaptic activity, probably by facilitating nucleosome assembly. TSPYL2 may inhibit cell proliferation by inducing p53-dependent CDKN1A expression under certain conditions. It is located in transcriptionally active regions in the nucleus but also in complexes in the cytoplasm. TSPYL2 is also expressed in non-neuronal tissues such as the testis, heart, liver and pancreas. TSPYL2 plays an important role as part of the nucleosome, and nucleosome assembly determines gene expression, cell proliferation and terminal differentiation of many cell types. TSPYL2 binds cyclin B and inhibits cell proliferation in cultured cells and likely plays a role in maintaining various DNA checkpoints and providing for tumor suppression because cells lacking TSPYL2 fail to undergo G1 arrest when subject to irradiation induced DNA damage. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-TSPYL2 rabbit polyclonal antibody has been tested in western blot on HeLa cell extracts and in paraffin embedded immunohistochemistry on human lung cancer tissue sections and in fluorescent immunohistochemistry on HeLa cells in culture.
