背景信息	The protein named Prostaglandin E synthase 3 or Cytosolic prostaglandin E2 synthase (cPGES), Hsp90 co-chaperone, Progesterone receptor complex p23, or Telomerase-binding protein p23 and encoded by the human gene named PTGES3 or P23/TEBP is a cytoplasmic enzyme expressed by a variety of cell types and critical to proper prostaglandin biosynthesis and lipid metabolism. PTGES3 acts as a molecular chaperone for important lipid receptors such as glucocorticoids and other steroid receptors. PTGES3 helps localize genomic response elements in a hormone dependent manner and disrupts receptor mediated transcriptional activation by promoting the active disassembly of transcriptional regulatory complexes. PTGES3 also binds to the progesterone receptor and is required for the correct assembly and stabilization of the telomerase holoenzyme complex. PTGES3 actively inhibits cell death and binds important cellular regulators such as HSP90 and p53. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-PTGES3 rabbit polyclonal antibody has been tested in western blot on mouse heart tissue extracts and in fluorescent immunocytochemistry on HeLa cells in culture.
