背景信息	The protein ETS2 encoded by the human gene named ETS2/ETS2IT1 is a transcription factor that is also a proto-oncogene and is a target in AKT/JNK signaling pathways. ETS2 upregulates the expression of many genes in cellular daily metabolism and also plays critical developmental roles in many tissues including skeletal muscle and immune cell development such as macrophage development. In cancer, ETS2 appears to be a central driver for transcription in tumor associated macrophages which are implicated in breast cancer metastasis. ETS2 is also highly expressed many other cancers and appears to be a driving force in cancer expression. Research has focused on downregulation of ETS2 in cancers as a possible anti-cancer therapy in some cancers. In other cancers such as adenocarcinomas, ETS2 expression is repressed significantly. Additionally, overexpression of ETS2 in lung adenocarcinomas significantly inhibited lung cancer cell growth, migration and invasion and the mechanism appears to be through ETS2’s ability to suppress the phosphorylation of MET, another proto-oncogene. Expression is typically limited to the nucleus in most expressed tissues as expected. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-ETS2 rabbit polyclonal antibody has been tested in western blot on HeLa cell extracts.
