    背景信息 The protein named Bcl-2-like protein 11 or alternatively, Bcl2-interacting mediator of cell death, and encoded by the human gene BCL2L11/BIM is a BCL-2 family member protein that is a pro-apoptotic protein because it interacts with a number of anti-apoptotic BCL-2 family members and prevents them from performing their protective functions. Bcl-2-like protein 11 or BIM interacts with MCL1, BCL2, BCL2L1 isoform Bcl-X(L), BCL2A1/BFL-1, BHRF1, and BCLW proteins. Also Bcl-2-like protein 11 or BIM has multiple isoforms given the names BimL, BimEL, and BimS and each of these can have sub isoforms with various alpha, beta, and gamma surnames. Bcl-2-like protein 11 or BIM is an internal membrane protein that is also strongly associated with the mitochondria; many of the isoform subtypes appear to have tissue specific expression such as Bim-gamma which is restricted to the small intestine and colon, primarily, with much lower levels in other tissues. Regulation is via phosphorylation and the ubiquitination and subsequent degradation. Bcl-2-like protein 11 or BIM is induced by ER stress as well as other cellular stresses that mediate ER stress and cell death.
