背景信息	Acinus (Apoptotoic Chromatin condensation Inducer in the NUcleuS) is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear factor that is essential for apoptotic chromatin condensation. The ~220 kDa acinus protein is cleaved by caspase-3 and an additional unidentified protease to release a 17 kDa fragment that induces chromatin condensation in vitro. Acinus is expressed in three isoforms, AcinusL, AcinusS, and Acinus Sˊ, with the two shorter isoforms (~100 kDa) constituting the C-terminal region of the longer form.
