背景信息	Histone H3 is one of the five main histone proteins involved in the structure of chromatin in eukaryotic cells. Featuring a main globular domain and a long N-terminal tail, H3 is involved with the structure of the nucleosomes of the 'beads on a string' structure. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 protrudes from the globular nucleosome core and can undergo several different types of epigenetic modifications that influence cellular processes. These modifications include the covalent attachment of methyl or acetyl groups to lysine and arginine amino acids and the phosphorylation of serine or threonine.

应用说明	Western Blot Analysis: 1:2000-1:10,000 dilutions of a previous lot detected phosphorylated and acetylated histone H3 in acid extracted proteins from serum starved mouse 10T1/2 cells treated with 50ng/ml EGF for 12.5 minutes. Western blotting of this lot to acid extracted proteins described above was preferentially competed by peptides in the following order: phospho-acetyl-H3 (7-20) > straight chain H3 (7-20) > phospho-H3 (7-20) or acetyl-H3 (7-20). Chromatin Immunoprecipitation: A previous lot of this antibody was reported by an independent laboratory to immunoprecipitate chromatin. (Cheung, P., 2000.)
