背景信息	Aurora A, B, and C, are members of the serine/threonine kinase family. These have been identified as important regulators of the mitotic cell division process. Aurora B, specifically, is involved in the regulation of centrosome function, bipolar spindle assembly, and chromosome segregation. Overexpression of Aurora A can induce abnormalities in G2 and spindle checkpoints. This is seen in various tumors.

Expression is cell-cycle regulated, low in G1/S, accumulates during G2/M, and decreases rapidly after. PTM: Phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR.
