背景信息 With SmartFlare™ RNA Detection probes, you can detect RNA in LIVE CELLS with ease. With just an overnight incubation of Noggin; Human, Cyanine 5, RNA Detection Probe you can detect the presence of Noggin within your cells.
Noggin protein, encoded by the gene named NOG, is an essential secreted polypeptide important for proper development and morphogenesis of many systems including, nervous, cartilage, and bone. Noggin appears to act by inhibiting the action of TGF-beta signaling proteins such as BMP4, BMP2 and BMP7 on their receptors as they diffuse through the extracellular matrix during growth and development. In doing so then, Noggin acts as an extracellular conveyor and regulator of morphogenic growth. In disease, Noggin defects in humans are associated with multiple synostosis syndrome (SYNS1) which appears to be a hypomorphic situation where not enough effective Noggin is produced. Interestingly recent research demonstrates that Noggin overexpression may help to protect adult brain against hypoxia and ischemic injury by selectively inhibiting the actions of BMP proteins known to be induced during injury, however over expression of Noggin is also associated with many aggressive and invasive bone cancers as well.
