    概述 The MILLIPLEX® MAP Rat/Mouse Oxidative Phosphorylation (OXPHOS) Magnetic Bead Panel is available in premix format only, and may be used for the analysis of cell lysate or tissue extract.
    背景信息 Mitochondrial Oxidative Phosphorylation (OXPHOS) produces more than 95% of the conserved cellular energy in the form of ATP under normal conditions. This process involves five different protein complexes, NADH–ubiquinone oxidoreductase (Complex I), succinate ubiquinone oxidoreductase (Complex II), ubiquinone cytochrome c oxidoreductase (Complex III), cytochrome c oxidase (Complex IV) and ATP synthase (Complex V).

    The overall process of oxidative phosphorylation is tightly controlled by transcriptional regulation at the level of DNA and RNA. Inefficient electron transfer through complexes I-IV leads to various abnormalities. Without proper regulation, the production of toxic reactive oxygen species is known to increase. Many diverse classes of drugs inhibit OXPHOS and induce mitochondrial toxicity. The ability to monitor the levels of OXPHOS complexes in rat and mouse is a key element to rodent animal model studies for many diseases and for drug safety evaluation.
