背景信息 Ephrin-B2, also known as EPH-related receptor tyrosine kinase ligand 5 (LERK-5) or HTK ligand (HTK-L), and encoded by the gene EFNB2 or EPLG5 or HTKL or LERK5, is a cell surface transmembrane ligand for Eph receptors. Eph receptors are a family of receptor tyrosine kinases that are critical for migration, repulsion and adhesion during neuronal, vascular and epithelial development. Ephrin-B2 binding leads to bi-directional signaling between neighboring cells. Ephrin-B2 plays a central role in cardiac morphogenesis and angiogenesis and also plays an important role in axon guidance mediated via the Eph receptor signaling. Ephrin-B2 interacts with PDZRN3 and PDZRN3 and binds to the receptor tyrosine kinases EPHA4, EPHB4 and EPHA3. Ephrin-B2 is localized to the plasma membrane. Ephrin-B2 is expressed in many cells during development particularly in cardiac muscle and in the development of nervous system tissues.
