背景信息	The protein named Macrophage mannose receptor 1 (MMR) or alternatively C-type lectin domain family 13 member D, C-type lectin domain family 13 member D-like, Macrophage mannose receptor 1-like protein 1 (MRC1), or CD206 and encoded by the human gene named MRC1/CLEC13D/CLEC13DL/MRC1L1 is a membrane protein located at the cell membrane and in endosomes that serves as a phagocytic receptor for bacteria, fungi and other pathogens through its ability to bind glycoproteins. MRC1 can also be found expressed on skin cells and keratinocytes. MRC1 mediates the endocytosis of high mannose structures on the surface of various pathogens and other proteins and can also activate the complement pathway. Interestingly, several HIV proteins have interactions with MRC1 that actually promote viral spread. For instance MRC1 binds HIV gp120 allowing uptake of the virus into endosomes and the HIV Nef protein expression acts to down regulate MRC1 expression on macrophages and dendritic cells, and finally the Tat protein of HIV represses the expression of MRC1 gene itself, thus MRC1 is a target of anti-HIV research as well.
