背景信息 Discovered on gastrointestinal stromal tumors protein 1 (Dog1), also known as Anoctamin-1, is a novel multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the anoctamin family. Dog1 functions as a Ca2+-activated Cl- channel and is a required component of tracheal development. Expression of Dog1 is elevated in the gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), KIT signaling-driven mesenchymal tumors of the GI tract. It is also expressed at more moderate levels in epithelia from foregut, kidney, lung, pancreas and salivary glands.
