背景信息	Also known as dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 4, JNK-activating kinase 1, and MAP/ERK kinase 4 among other names, MKK4 is protein kinase that plays a critical role in the MAP kinase signal transduction pathway and in stress-activated protein kinase/c-Jun N-terminal kinase (SAP/JNK) signaling. MKK4 is required for maintenance of peripheral lymphoid homeostasis, and is involved in stress response and apoptosis. It also acts as a metastasis suppressor in certain cancers, such as prostate and ovarian cancer.
