背景信息 LXRa and LXRb (NR1H3 and NR1H2, respectively) are ligand-activated nuclear receptors that mediate cholesterol homeostasis. Once activated, LXRs upregulate the transcription of genes involved in cholesterol transport such as those encoding ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters, including ATP-binding cassette protein A (ABCA)1 and apolipoprotein E (Apo E), in various brain diseases. ABCA1 is known to carry and deliver cholesterol through receptor-mediated endocytosis, while in Alzheimer’s brain, both ABCA1 and Apo E are shown to influence amyloid-beta transport and clearance. It is also shown that LXR ligands inhibit STAT1 binding to related gene promoters and the downstream expression of IRF1, TNFa, and IL-6. One study reports that differential SUMOlyation of LXRa and LXRb positively transrepresses STAT1 inflammatory signaling in IFN-g-stimulated rat brain astrocytes and that transient tranfection of specific individual siRNAs against LXRb and LXRa blocks LXR-induced suppression of IRF1 and TNFa expression. 产品信息 格式 Affinity Purified 控制 - Human cerebellum tissue lysate

The inducible LXRA is highly expressed in liver, adrenal gland, intestine, adipose tissue, macrophages, lung, and kidney, whereas LXRB is ubiquitously expressed.
