背景信息	The protein ATP-citrate synthase, or ATP-citrate (pro-S)-lyase (ACL) or citrate cleavage enzyme is encoded by the human gene named ACLY. ACLY is the primary enzyme responsible for the synthesis of cytosolic acetyl-CoA in many tissue and has a central role in de novo lipid synthesis. In nervous tissue it may be involved in the biosynthesis of acetylcholine as well. ACLY is expressed by all cells, is cytoplasmically localized, and is the link between the metabolism of carbohydrates and the production of fatty acids. ACLY is activated by insulin and is important in many biosynthetic pathways including lipogenesis and cholesterogenesis. Anti-ACLY rabbit polyclonal antibody has been tested in western blot on K562 cell lysates and in fluorescent immunocytochemistry on HepG2 cells in culture.
