背景信息	The protein named RISC-loading complex subunit TARBP2, or TAR RNA-binding protein 2, or Trans-activation-responsive RNA-binding protein, and encoded by the human gene TARBP2/TRBP, is a cytoplasmic, perinuclear and nuclear localized protein that is part of the RNA induced silencing complex (RISC) needed for micro-RNA processing as well as RNA processing. RARBP2 along with DICER1 are required to process precursor miRNAs to mature miRNAs and then load them onto the EIF2/AGO2. TARBP2 is also needed to produce the siRNAs from double stranded RNA along with DICER1. TARBP2 also interacts with DHX9, EIF6, MOV10 and PRKRA, as well as the 60S ribosome. Recently TARBP2 has also been found to be important in regulating the development of cancer stem cells (CSC) and that deregulation of TARBP2-dependent miRNA expression may foster such CSC development in certain cancers. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-TARBP2 rabbit polyclonal antibody has been tested in western blots on HepG2 cell extracts and in paraffin embedded immunohistochemistry on human brain tissue sections and in fluorescent immunocytochemistry on HeLa cells in culture.
