背景信息	The protein TIF1-beta or also called Transcription intermediary factor 1-beta, E3 SUMO-protein ligase TRIM28, KRAB-associated protein 1, (KAP-1), KRAB-interacting protein (KRIP-1), Nuclear corepressor KAP-1, RING finger protein 96, or Tripartite motif-containing protein 28 and encoded by the human gene TRIM28/KAP1/RNF96/TIF1B a corepressor critical to connecting together growth factor and DNA damage cellular responses through intracellular signaling and gene expression mechanisms. TIF1beta interacts with KRAB domain containing proteins and is a component of many other nuclear and chromatin protein complexes including the Nucleosome remodeling and deacetylation (NuRD) complex and the SETDB1 methylation complex. Through the interaction with the various complexes TIF1-beta assists in either gene activation or gene deactivation depending upon the particular partner and context. TIF1-beta is localized in the nucleus and expressed in all tissues examined. Also, among the developmental processes that TIF1-beta is involved in include developmental axis development and the epithelial to mesenchymal transition.
