    背景信息 Caspase 8-associated protein 2 (also known as CASP8-associated protein 2 or CASP8AP2) is a self-associating component of the death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) with Caspase 8, FADD and FAS. Caspase 8 (CASP8) is a member of the caspase family and is involved in the signal transduction pathways of apoptosis, necrosis, and inflammation. CASP8AP2 suppresses NCOA2- and NCOA3-induced enhancement of glucocorticoid receptor transactivation upstream of NF-kappa-B. CASP8AP2 acts as a downstream mediator for Caspase 8-induced activation of NF-kappa-B and is required for the activation of caspase 8 in FAS-mediated apoptosis. CASP8AP2 is also required for histone gene transcription and progression through S phase.

    SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm. Nucleus. Note: Localizes to discrete nuclear foci.

    INDUCTION: By TNF which induces strong nuclear localization.

    PTM: Phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR.
