背景信息	Sigma non-opioid intracellular receptor 1 (SIGMAR1) is a member of the ERG2 family that is involved in a wide array of cellular functions. SIGMAR1 is widely expressed with higher expression in liver, colon, prostate, placenta, small intestine, heart, and pancreas. Mutations in SIGMAR1 have been associated with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 16 which affects upper motor neurons in the brain and lower motor neurons in the brain stem and spinal cord, resulting in fatal paralysis.
