背景信息	The Golgi-specific DHHC zinc finger protein (GODZ) is a widely expressed, highly conserved integral membrane protein. GODZ mRNA is found in many tissues; however, in brain the protein is detected concentrated and asymmetrically distributed within neuronal Golgi complex only. The interaction of GODZ with specific GABAA and GluRalpha receptor subunits in vitro and likely palmitoylation function suggests a role for this novel protein in receptor trafficking in vivo. Since GODZ is restricted to Golgi and receptors such as GABAA do not normally accumulate there, no long-term colocalization is likely to be found. The palmitoylation of GABAA and other diverse neuronal proteins, including GPCRs, by a transient GODZ protein complex represents a reversible posttranslational modification key for regulated trafficking in neurons.

Additional bands of ~40 and ~75 kDa may be seen depending on sample and antibody concentration used. Immunocytochemistry: 0.5-2.0 μg/mL on cultured neurons. Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.
