    背景信息 Cortactin is cytoskeleton protein that facilitates assembly of cortical actin. Cortactin is widely expressed in most adherent cells and is a prominent substrate of protein-tyrosine kinase Src in vivo and in vitro. The protein sequence of cortactin contains multiple amino-terminal tandem repeats of a unique 37-amino acid sequence, which associates with actin, and a Src homology 3 domain at the carboxyl terminus.

Antibody is supplied in phosphate-buffered saline (no Ca2+, no Mg2+), pH 7.3, containing 1 mg/ml BSA, and 0.05% sodium azide.

    Entrez基因汇总 This gene is overexpressed in breast cancer and squamous cell carcinomas of the head and neck. The encoded protein is localized in the cytoplasm and in areas of the cell-substratum contacts. This gene has two roles: (1) regulating the interactions between components of adherens-type junctions and (2) organizing the cytoskeleton and cell adhesion structures of epithelia and carcinoma cells. During apoptosis, the encoded protein is degraded in a caspase-dependent manner. The aberrant regulation of this gene contributes to tumor cell invasion and metastasis. Two splice variants that encode different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
