    背景信息 Melanin is associated with pigment; however, melanin concentrating hormone project widely throughout the brain and function to regulate feeding behavior and energy balance. Mammalian MCH is present in neurons of both the central and peripheral nervous systems, with predominant expression in the lateral hypothalamus and zona incerta. Although MCH has been implicated in a variety of physiological functions, its central role in the control of feeding and energy balance has been the focus of previous studies. When administered centrally, MCH promotes food intake. It’s expression in the lateral hypothalamus is induced by starvation. Diseases associated with melanin are Albinoism and Parkinson's disease.
