背景信息	With SmartFlare™ RNA Detection probes, you can detect RNA in LIVE CELLS with ease. With just an overnight incubation of KIT; Human, Cyanine 3, RNA Detection Probe you can detect the presence of KIT within your cells. c-Kit is a member of the receptor tyrosine kinase subfamily that includes PDGFR, CSF-1R, and FLT-3/flk-2 receptor. It plays a critical role in controlling a variety of cellular functions in hematopoietic stem cells, mast cells, melanocytes, and germ cells. Upon binding to its ligand, stem cell factor (SCF), the receptor dimerizes and undergoes autophosphorylation, which results in the recruitment of downstream SH2-containing signaling molecules. Mutations that impair the kinase activity of c-Kit are associated with a variety of developmental disorders and mutations that constitutively activate the kinase can lead to pathogenesis of mastocytosis and gastrointestinal stromal tumors. Phosphorylation of Tyr⁷¹⁹ results in c-Kit binding to PI-3K.
