背景信息	With SmartFlare™ RNA Detection probes, you can detect RNA in LIVE CELLS with ease. With just an overnight incubation of SOX9; Mouse, Cyanine 5, RNA Detection Probe you can detect the presence of SOX9 within your cells. Transcription factor SOX9 plays an important role in many diverse developmental programs from male sexual development and the development of the reproductive system, to bone and skeletal development, to the proper activation of genes necessary for cartilage disposition and structure. SOX9 interacts not only with important cofactors such as MED12, and MAF but also with growth factors such as FGF9. SOX9 appears to also play a role in cancer as over expression of SOX9 in various cancer cells promotes tumor growth and progression, whereas its inactivation reduced tumorigenicity. Interestingly however, in melanomas, it is thought that the lack of expression of SOX9 leads and promotes tumorigenicity as overexpression induced cell cycle arrest and restored responsiveness to retinoic acid. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-SOX9 mouse monoclonal antibody has been tested in western blot against recombinant human protein as well as Lovo and SW620 cell lysates. The antibody has also been tested in direct ELISA against recombinant antigen and in fluorescent immunocytochemistry on HeLa cells in culture.
