    背景信息 Zinc finger protein 804A or ZNF804A is a neuronal DNA binding protein thought to be associated with transcription regulation whose mutations are associated with a variety of physical and mental disorders, most notably Schizophrenia. For instance, single nucleotide changes named rs1344706 is a change that confers genome-wide risk for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and also is associated with changes in cortical thickness in adults. ZNF804A is widely expressed in the human brain though its exact function and how it is exactly involved in regulating the expression of brain structure or brain message coordination is currently an area of active neuroscience research.
